At Vocabrew, we’re dedicated to providing a personalized and engaging language learning experience.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain the rules and expectations that apply when you use our website,
mobile experiences, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using Vocabrew, you agree to follow these Terms and any applicable laws or regulations.

1. Who Can Use Vocabrew
Vocabrew is intended for individuals aged 16 and older.
You must create an account to access most features, except for limited demo content on the homepage.
By using the Service, you agree that:
- You are 16 or older.
- You will follow these Terms and all applicable laws.
2. Account Registration & Access
To access learning features, you must create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity under your
account.
Each individual is permitted to maintain only one personal account. You may not:
- Create multiple accounts
- Use someone else’s account
- Share your login credentials with others
Violating this may result in restriction or suspension of all associated accounts.
You also agree not to:
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to access the platform
- Reverse engineer any part of the service
- Use VPNs, proxies, or ad blockers that interfere with platform functionality
- Misuse learning tools (e.g., speech-to-text, grammar bots) for non-learning purposes
Violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension.
Temporary suspensions are automated; permanent ones are reviewed by our internal security team.
Why We Take This Seriously
Most tools on Vocabrew are available for free, supported by ads and premium subscribers. Abuse risks the balance and may lead to limiting free access.
3. Subscriptions, Purchases & Payments
Vocabrew offers a freemium model with optional:
- One-time purchases (e.g., pronunciation seconds)
- Recurring subscriptions
You can manage everything from your Settings page.
We do not cancel or modify subscriptions on your behalf — please use the Settings tools.
If you delete your account:
- Subscriptions are canceled immediately
- Only legally required payment data is retained (see Privacy Policy)
4. Refunds and Compensation
4.1 Pronunciation Seconds (One-Time Credits)
- Not refundable after purchase
- Can be transferred to others via Settings
- Transfers must be to registered Vocabrew emails
We are not responsible for personal agreements involving credit transfers.
4.2 Monthly Subscription (Recurring)
- Can be canceled or paused any time
- No refund for current billing cycle
- Subscription remains active until end of cycle
4.3 Ad-Free Guest Passes
Offered as a free promotional bonus to monthly subscribers:
- Valid for 1 day
- Must be redeemed with a registered Vocabrew email
Pass program is subject to change.
4.4 6-Month Subscription (Prepaid Plan)
Partial refunds available based on used months:
Example: $60 paid for 6 months → canceled after 1 month → refund = $60 - $15 = $45
4.5 Changing Plans
Upgrades (e.g., monthly → 6-month) receive a credit for recent payment.
Downgrades (e.g., 6-month → monthly) get partial refund as per Section 4.4.
4.6 Platform Issues
Refunds or credits may apply for:
- Mistaken suspensions
- Platform downtime
- Technical issues with paid features
5. Content Ownership
All content (e.g., stories, AI tools, exercises) is owned by Vocabrew Inc.
We retain rights to:
- Your submitted content (e.g., audio, answers)
- Feedback and evaluations generated by the system
Deleted accounts remove personal data; submissions are anonymized.
6. User Conduct & Violations
You agree not to:
- Upload illegal or offensive content
- Circumvent ads or misuse rewards
- Scrape, automate, or interfere with platform logic
- Impersonate others or violate copyrights
Violations may lead to:
- Temporary bans (automatic, no notice)
- Permanent suspensions (human-reviewed)
7. “As Is” and “As Available” Disclaimer
Vocabrew is offered on a best-effort basis.
We rely on third parties (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, etc.).
Service disruptions may occur — compensation handled per refund policy.
AI feedback may contain errors. We automatically re-check some submissions to improve accuracy.
Planned downtime will be communicated in advance when possible.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vocabrew is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Data loss or third-party misuse
- Anything beyond the platform’s control
Liability is capped at the greater of $100 CAD or your last 12 months' payments.
9. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

- If unresolved: claims will be settled by binding arbitration in Canada
10. Termination
You may delete your account anytime.
We may suspend or delete your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your actions threaten security or users
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as needed.
You’ll be notified via the platform or email.
The “Last Updated” date will always be visible.
Continued use means acceptance of changes.
